AlmaScience CoLAB Governance

General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme decision body for AlmaScience CoLAB and is composed of representatives of each associate (either founding or effective). The General Assembly meetings are chaired by an elected president, supported by a deputy and a secretary.

For the 2022-2023 period, the meetings are chaired by:
  • João Paulo Cabete Gonçalves Lé (NVG), President
  • André Filipe Cardoso dos Santos (CS), Deputy
  • Pedro Miguel Dores Calado Correia (NOVA.ID), Secretary

Scientific and Technical Council

The Scientific and Technical Council’s main duty is scientific strategical advisory to the Board, including global scientific strategy definition, operational advising on project inclusion in the R&D program/portfolio, and IPR validation/valuation (including background knowledge), as described in SCT by laws.
The Scientific and Technical Council mandate is four years long and meets once a month. Decisions are made by a majority.

Its current composition is:

  • Liliana Ferreira (FhPT)
  • Silvia Garcia (INCM)

Fiscal Council

The Fiscal Council forecasts and validates AlmaScience’s financial demonstrations, and comments on the annual activity plan and budget.

It meets every three months and is composed by:
  • João Carlos dos Santos Silva e Pereira de Lima (NOVA), President
  • Carla Alexandra de Carvalho Guimarães (NVG)
  • Grant & Thorton & Associados, SROC Lda

As part of AlmaScience's ethical standards and transparency, and in compliance with Portuguese and European best practices and regulations, our Annual Activity and Financial Reports are public and available online.

Gender Equality Plan

Recognizing the relevance of gender equality and as part of AlmaScience’s efforts to comply with European best practices and regulations, a Gender Equality Plan has been designed, approved, and implemented with the help of all collaborators. Gender equality is central to Research and Innovation, as it has been shown to improve its quality and relevance while helping attract and retain talent and maximize its potential.
AlmaScience’s Gender Equality Plan is public and available online, in Portuguese.
